First thing you need to make a film is the story. For me this is by far the hardest part of making a film. Coming up with a creative, fun filmable idea. Every one tells you "write what you know". I try to. for me I like the more twilighty, twist ending type films or if any one has seen The BlackBox Tv on you tube. (http://bit.ly/eq5Xqt) the darker types of films.
Ok. Now you have your box office idea! Great! Now your off to a great start. Next step is solidifying your idea. Get a pice of paper and pen and sit down a wright dow a brief description of each scene you want in your film. Make sure you make sure to add in enough detail so that later on looking back you can instantly remember what is is you pictured, in your head.
Now its time to start your script! There are many scripting softwares out there you can use. I personally use Celtx. Its a free downloadable software you can get online. Over all its a great scripting software. If your willing to shell out a few bucks Final draft is the best scripting software out there. Now your ready to get writing. Grab out that pice of paper with the scene descriptions, you wrote out earlier.
Now when your writing your script add as much detail as possible so that later on when your ready to shoot, your film, you remember what you picture while you were writing. If you hit writers block, and you will, don't just stare and over think what to do next. Get away from your script. leave your script and get it off your mind. the more you think about it the harder it is. just push it to the back of your mind. Never forget to SAVE! the worst thing is when you open your script and your 4 hours of typing is gone! So, SAVE often! and now you have yourself a script!
Thanks,
Zack
