This weeks Short Film is from Alihan Coskun. The short is titled White. I really enjoyed this short! I love the simplicity of it. The coloring and mix of white and red to me is an incredible combination. Heres what he had said about his Short.
"The idea came from the book which I was read few years ago. It was turkish book and I think there is not an english version. White was made from pur school project . It was one minute project and we get the second prize in this competition. We used 5d mark2 and canon 50 f1/4 lens. We edited in premiere cs5 and for color we used mojo in after effects."
Well done!
Here it is!
Enjoy,

This weeks Sunday Short Film is
"Bipolar - A Narration of Manic Depression" Trailer. It's not a Film but it is a trailer for a film. So, it counts? This film was shot on a Canon 5DMK2. This film was Written & Directed by Daniel Ruczko. here's the overview of this film.
Bipolar is an experimental shortmovie, entirely shot in split screen. It follows a manic-depressive author called Andrew Gony. The movie shows Andrew in both mental stages, to visualize that the splitscreen is used, on the left side you see the manic Andrew and at the same time on the right side you can see the depressive Andrew, and how he reacts to different events in both phases.
Both sides have different things to deal with, the manic Andrew has lots of energy and ideas, he doesn't require much sleep and in order to deal with his overage of energy he runs, the depressive Andrew is suffering from insomnia, is uncreative, non productive and in battle with his inner self.
I personally can't wait to see the full film! The trailer really grabbed my attention! I hope it's available online!
Well here it is!

This weeks topic is time lapse photography. Time lapse photography is were a series of pictures are taken over X amount of time them played back at a faster speed. Thus, making the pictures seem like a movie. Here's an example.
vimeo.com
That is a great example of what a time lapse video will look like. All you need to do this is a steady tripod, your DSLR and A LOT of time! That's the bare essentials. What you do is put you camera on a tripod point it to what ever you want to have you time lapse of and start taking pictures.
Now, that's not the ideal way to take a time lapse. The best thing to get is a Timer remote. What it is, is a remote that lets you set the time intervals you want the camera to take and press start and the remote will trigger the shutter according to the time intervals you set.
I was looking online for a timer romote for my 7D, and I found one for around $200. For me, that was too much money, I'm saving for other Film equipment. So, I looked around for cheaper alternatives. I found a few timer remotes that say they do the same thing. My issue was they were $150 cheaper. So, I decided that could be risky.
After looking online for a while I realized that my Canon 7D came with software where I could operate my camera through my computer. The software is called ESO Utility. So after searching around the program I found Timer Shooting. SWEET! I just saved $200! This will take the photos for you! So There you have it!
This is it for now. This is more of an introduction into time lapse photography. In the future I'll go more in depth in how to make the video. )Im still learning how to myself.) So till then, Thanks for Reading!
Enjoy,
Zack
